Swallowtail

Meet my latest design–Swallowtail!

This pullover features a ton of stranded colorwork with fingering weight yarn, all centered on the zebra swallowtail butterfly. This species is my favorite of all the butterflies, and it was fun playing with both the modern and natural elements and deconstructing them into various motifs.

For my sample above, I used Miss La Motte Linum (merino/linen blemnd) for the main color and Miss La Motte Singles (100% merino) for the colorwork. I cannot say enough about her amazing yarn! Be sure to check out her website here or beautiful Instagram feed here.

To fit chest circumference of 28 (32, 36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56, 60, 64) in. / 70 (80, 90, 100, 110) (120, 130, 140, 150, 160) cm

Finished bust circumference: 29.75 (34.25, 38, 41.5, 47.5) (51, 54.5, 59.25, 62.75, 66.25) in./74.5 (85.5, 95, 104, 119) (127.5, 136.5, 148, 157, 165.5) cm

Intended to fit with 1.5-3.5 in. / 4-9 cm of positive ease. Please scroll to the Sizing Schematic below for more details.

Below is a sample I had knit in a color scheme that is practically (unintentionally!) the inverse of mine. For the sample, Neighborhood Fiber Co. Rustic Fingering was used throughout the sweater. The model (Amber) is wearing a size 9 on a 57 in./145 cm bust.
