How to Work German Short Rows in Brioche

If you’ve ever wondered how to work short rows in brioche, look no further!

I had intended to make a video last year before releasing the Contour Cardi pattern to show how to work the brioche short rows that are described in the pattern. Thankfully, my friend Christina (who actually gave me my first couple of knitting lessons, by the way) recently reached the hem section of her Contour Cardi project. I asked if I could borrow it to create a video demonstrating how to start the brioche hem and work the brioche double stitch (BDS), and she handed it right off to me.

These clips show how to begin the Right Brioche Hem and how to work the brioche double stitches there. Please note that the short rows are worked slightly differently on the Left Brioche Hem because the BDS’s are created on the wrong side as opposed to the right side. The video is split into two files for quicker loading, so after watching the first video please scroll down to the next one. I hope this demonstration helps any of you knitting the Contour Cardi!
